Ivan Valdez has been casting fishing lines since he was a toddler. He took up fly fishing at 10, following in his father’s footsteps. He has not looked back since. 18 years ago, he started guiding for The Reel Life in Santa Fe, NM, and 10 years ago, he and his business partner Nick purchased the shop. The first thing they did was move the shop over to the bustling DeVargas Center mall. 

What sets The Reel Life apart from the competition is its vibe and its customer service. Ivan wants customers to feel like they are coming into his home. People are always greeted with a smile, and he and his staff are ready to answer any questions. And there are no dumb questions in this shop!
